On Thursday, October 18th at the Chauncey Conference Center at ETS in Princeton, members enjoyed a wonderful evening to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Princeton-Trenton SLA Chapter, which began in 1967. After a cocktail hour which gave old and new members a chance to mingle and enjoy photos from earlier events, thanks to our archivist, Jan Watterworth, we heard my short presentation on our chapter’s history. After a champagne toast and a tasty four-course served dinner, we listened to our speaker, Diane Hofman, who entertained us with a look back at her long career with database vendors and her work as a consultant. Her words of wisdom and lessons learned gave us all hope for the future!
We then gave away six door prizes and the table settings before ending the night with the hope that this chapter will continue to thrive. Each attendee also received a USB drive as a gift. Many thanks to our two sponsors, LibraryLinkNJ (Cheryl O’Connor joined us) and Proquest/Dialog. Thanks also go to a former chapter president, Janet Weiss for securing sponsors for all of our meetings this year!
Be sure to attend our last meeting of the year on Wednesday, November 28 at Princeton University for a talk from the archivist and a tour of the Mudd Archive Library before joining us for dinner afterward at Triumph Brewery across the street. You should be receiving the registration form very soon, but mark the date on your calendars!
Hope to see many of you there!
Zana Etter, 2012 PTSLA Chapter President
